Heed this tale from Midgard's tongue But ask not whence the storms doth come Ask not where the wolves have gone Or why the birds have ceased their song For from up beyond in Jotunheimr Giants lived before thy time Whom the mortals thought it was their god So built a pathway from magical pod As they climbed to their heaven's gate Alas they met with a grisly fate A bridge lay open for the Jotun hordes To descend down to the Nordic Fjords A plague thus spread upon mankind As the Jötnar plundered what they did find The earth became a desolate plain As the mortals fought and died in vain But a king then rose and spewed dark arts And hoped to conquer the giants' hearts So a crown was crafted unlike any before From blood of giants and Runar Lore Slaves they become to the king's command As he showed up before them with crown in hand And thus the Jötnar returned to their keep As like a wolf, the king scared the sheep Looking down with jealous eyes Upon Midgard's folk to reclaim their prize They now hunger for the souls below Await the seeds of vengeance to grow But now the centuries took their toll The giants forgotten and so their fall Hence this tale crumbled away And truth became myth… or so folk say…
